ABILENE, Texas. – The McMurry University women's basketball team is off to its best six-game start since the 2011-12 season and will look for its sixth win on Tuesday, Dec. 3 against Southwestern. Tip-off inside Kimbrell Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday evening is McMurry's "Toys for Tots" game, as fans who bring an unwrapped toy to the gate will receive free admission to both the men's and women's game. Fans are also encouraged to wear holiday attire to the game.

NOTES
ABOUT LAST WEEK – The War Hawks (5-1 record) played three games over four days last week, completing season sweeps of Texas Lutheran (60-58) and Schreiner (68-46) while flying past Arlington Baptist (84-64) at home last Monday.
REYNA RECORD WATCH – A four-year standout for McMurry, senior forward Skyler Reyna ranks second on the all-time career rebound list with 784 rebounds. Furthermore, Reyna has 1,173 career points to rank sixth on the all-time list and needs 22 points for fifth all-time. Tarra Richardson (2004-08) holds both records with 1,015 rebounds and 2,164 points.
BACK-TO-BACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Skyler Reyna racked up three straight double doubles against Nebraska Wesleyan, TLU and Schreiner, earning American Southwest Conference Player of the Week honors two weeks in a row. In that span, Reyna averaged 25.3 points and 17.6 rebounds per contest.
YOUTH SQUAD – McMurry has 14 freshmen and one junior transfer on the 2019-20 roster, joining the returning senior duo of Sarah Doherty and Skyler Reyna and returning sophomore Brittany Rodgers. The average age of the team is 19.05 years old.
EMERGING FRESHMEN – The War Hawks have a strong contingency of freshmen contributors … Destiny Mathews is second on the team with 9.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game … D'Asia White led the team earlier this season with nine assists, but now ranks third with 13 on the year … Taya Bridges and Sidney McHenry, along with senior Sarah Doherty, are tied for the team lead with six blocks … Bridges leads all freshmen with seven triples, followed by Trinity Meador with six.
McMURRY IN THE ASC – The War Hawks rank fourth in the ASC in scoring offense at 71.8 points per contest, while ranking third in scoring defense allowing 57.2 PPG. McMurry leads the ASC in field goal percentage defense (31.7 percent), defensive rebounds (32.5 per game) and rebounding offense (50.3 per game).
DOUBLE TROUBLE FROM THE TRIPLE – As a team, McMurry stands atop the conference in three-point shooting percentage at 34.1 percent. Just as impressive, the McMurry defense owns a conference-best 22.2 opponent three-point shooting percentage.
SCOUTING SOUTHWESTERN – The Pirates carry a 2-4 record into Tuesday's tilt with wins over Concordia Texas and Howard Payne. In their last outing, SU fell to No. 7 Mary Hardin-Baylor, 84-51. The team averages 58.8 points per game and are led by senior center Cecily Wollfolk at 14.5 PPG and 9.7 RPG in six starts. Junior forward Noel Pratts has 12.0 PPG in all six starts.
SERIES HISTORY – McMurry leads the all-time series with a 13-8 record. The War Hawks have won five of the last six games.
In the last meeting on Dec. 8, 2018, McMurry won 58-44 on the road. In that game, Skyler Reyna, Sarah Doherty and Brittany Rodgers were the three leading scorers and each finished with double digit points. Southwestern won the last game played in Kimbrell Arena, 61-58, in the 2017-18 season.
