ABILENE, Texas - The McMurry University men's tennis teams picked up an American Southwest Conference West Division victory at home on Friday versus the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 5-4, at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center. The War Hawks improved to 8-11 overall and 3-2 in the ASC West

McM trailed 2-1 after doubles play. The War Hawks' lone win came at line one doubles, where the duo of
Carlos Martinez and
Clayton Pope won, 8-2. The duo improved their season record to a team-best 9-4 overall and 5-0 in the ASC. UMHB upped its lead to 3-1 by winning No. 3 singles.

But that's when the War Hawks' comeback began.

At lines one and two singles, Martinez and Pope notched straight set victories to even up the team slate at 3-3. After another Cru win at line four, freshman
Joseph Diaz chalked up his 10th win of the year at line five, once again tying the team score (4-4).

That brought matters down to No. 5 singles and McM sophomore
Zach Miller. Miller dropped the opening set to UMHB's Robert Galligan, 6-3. But Miller stormed back to take the second set, 6-4. He then went on to also grab set three, 6-1, to set off the War Hawks' victory celebration
