CONWAY, Ark. - McMurry University men's tennis capped it's spring trip with a resounding victory, shutting out Hendrix College, 9-0, at the Hatcher Tennis Center. The win improved the War Hawks' record to 4-6 on the year and 3-1 on the road trip.

The doubles matches to open the contest got the McMurry team off to a 3-0 start in the team score. At No. 1 doubles, the War Hawks' team of Carlos Perez and Clayton Pope easily dismissed of the Warriors' Kristian Lenser and Daniel Habenicht, 8-1.
 
At No. 2, Cody Aaron and Andrew Hallowell scored an 8-4 win for the Maroon & White, topping Luke Lefler and Sasin Payakachat.  Third line doubles proved to be an easy victory for McM's Joseph Diaz and Zach Miller, 8-0, over Robbie Kiss and Parker Work.
 
As convincing as the wins were in doubles, the six singles bouts were equally dominated by McM's lineup.  McMurry won each of the matches in straight sets.
 
At No. 1 singles, Martinez improved his personal record to a team-best 8-1 overall, taking down HC's Lenser, 6-0, 6-2.  Senior Clayton Pope easily controlled matters at No. 2 line, with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Habenicht.
 
Sophomore Andrew Hallowell was victorious at No. 3, 7-5, 6-2, with McM's Cody Aaron bidding the Warriors' Robbie Kiss goodbye at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2. 
 
Zach Miller put No. 5 singles in the War Hawks' win column, 6-1, 6-0. Rounding out the win skein for McMurry at No. 6 singles was Joseph Diaz, knocking out Hendrix's Mahammad Ali, 6-0, 7-5, to also notch his eighth victory in singles (8-2 overall).
