SHERMAN, Texas – Freshman Carlos Martinez provided the lone win for the McMurry University in an 8-1 non-conference loss to Austin College at the Russell Tennis Center.
 
The loss dropped the War Hawks to 3-10 on the year, while the Kangaroos jumped up to 8-3 overall.
 
Martinez dispatched of AC's Josh Granberry in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-0.  Martinez improved his personal record to 8-3 (all at No. 1 singles) and earned his fifth-consecutive victory in the process.
 
Martinez and doubles partner Andrew Hallowell lost a tough decision in pairs' play, falling 8-6.
 
The Kangaroos won all three doubles bouts to start the day.  Austin College then won the Nos. 2-6 singles contests, all in straight sets.  At No. 5 singles, McM's Logan Daniell dropped a tough 7-6 (7-5) first set, but was shut out in the second, 6-0.
