ABILENE, Texas – McMurry men's tennis evened its 2016 record at 7-7 on the year, thanks to its 8-1 victory over Sul Ross State at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.
The War Hawks won two of three doubles bouts (with the Lobos scoring their lone point of the day at third doubles). The tandem of
Carlos Perez and
Hunter Ward won at first doubles, with
Rayce Roberson and
Kie Jones taking No. 2 doubles.
McM was dominating in singles, winning five of the six matches in straight sets. Perez and Roberson were the victors at the Nos 1 and 2 positions, before Ward took a three-set win at No. 3 singles.
Clayton Pope, Jones and Kendall Mann brought home the Nos. 4-6 slots to the McM ledger.
