ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University's men and women each swept a pair of American Southwest Conference West Division matches Saturday at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center. The men's team beat Schreiner and Texas Lutheran 9-0 each while the women's team defeated TLU 9-0 and Schreiner 6-3.
In men's action, it was busines as usual against Schreiner as the War Hawks won each singles match in two sets while the No. 1-3 doubles court pairs won 8-0, 8-0, and 8-2 respectively. Against the Bulldogs of TLU, McMurry swept all nine matches as well with Adam Ewing's No. 5 singles match the only to go three sets.
The men improved to 18-2 overall and 5-0 in ASC West Division play with only a match against Hardin-Simmons Thursday to spare before the ASC Tournament in Belton.
The women pulled out the 6-3 victory against the Mountaineers with four wins on the singles court and two wins on the doubles court at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.

Rachel Smith and Autumn Patterson each won matches on the singles court. Stone & Miller won 8-1 on the doubles court and
Gavee Olsen and Lacey Krusmark teamed up for an 8-0 victory on the No. 3 doubles court.
McMurry's top five singles players won matches in two sets on the singles court against TLU while Stone & Miller won 8-0 on the No. 1 doubles court. Patterson & Smith took an 8-3 victory on the No. 2 doubles court and the remaining matches were won by default.
The War Hawks women moved to 6-14 overall and 3-2 in league play. McMurry will need to defeat Hardin-Simmons in order to qualify for the ASC Postseason Tournament.
