RICHARDSON, Texas – McMurry University bounced back from its only loss of the season to defeat UT-Dallas 7-2 Thursday night. The men's team took five of six matches on the singles court and took two of three matches on the doubles court to move to 5-1 on the season.

The Comets took only the No. 6 match on the singles court when Wayne Chang defeated McMurry freshman Preston Steblein in three sets. Then, in a tough doubles competition across the board, Bryan Rainwater and Chris Bumann took their first loss of the season to a division III opponent as the Comets' Sebastien Leitz and Jeff Trinh beat McMurry's top pair 9-7. McMurry won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles match by scores of 8-6 and 8-5 respectively.

Bumann, Daniel Olivares, Rainwater, Chris Breaux and Adam Ewing won singles matches in the No. 1-No. 5 courts respectively in singles play.

In women's action, UT-Dallas defeated McMurry 6-3 despite the visitors taking two of three on the doubles court. However, the Comets dominated singles play by taking the top five singles matches.
