KERRVILLE, Texas – McMurry University's men and women's tennis teams took American Southwest Conference West Division wins over Schreiner University Friday morning with the men sweeping 9-0 and the women taking the victory 7-2. The men remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0 while the women improved to 2-1.
From the No. 1 to No. 6 singles court on the men's side,
Will Davis,
Bryan Rainwater,
Daniel Olivares,
Tony Williams,
Brent Abilez and
Levi Cockrill all took wins for McMurry. Davis, in the No. 1 spot, was the only player to go three sets, but he won 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. Olivares had the most dominating score with a 6-1, 6-1 score and moved to 11-3 on the season in singles play.
On the doubles court, Rainwater and Davis took an 8-4 win over Schreiner's top pair. Olivares and Cockrill won their No. 2 doubles match 8-2 while Abilez and Williams took their No. 3 match to complete the sweep.
On the women's side, McMurry took five out of six singles matches and took two of three on the doubles court.

Rachel Smith took wins on the singles court. Olsen & Miller took a win on the No. 2 doubles court, 8-2. Stone and Karlie Dieterich won their No. 3 doubles match, 8-1.
In non-conference action McMurry's women lost 9-0 to No. 19-ranked Trinity University while the men fell 8-1.
The men's team will look to solidify a spot in the ASC Postseason Tourney with a match against TLU and the women will continue to improve on their winning record with a match against the Lady Bulldogs.
