SEGUIN, Texas – The McMurry men's tennis team clinched a spot in the American Southwest Conference postseason tournament with a win over Texas Lutheran 7-2 Saturday afternoon to move to 4-0 in ASC West Division play. McMurry's women moved closer to a postseason appearance with a 9-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs to move to 3-1 in league play.
On the men's side, McMurry took five of six matches on the singles court and two of three on the doubles court to defeat the Bulldogs and remain in a tie for first place at the top of the ASC West Division. With two conference matches to spare, even if McMurry were to lose its final two matches it would finish in the top three in the division, and the ASC Tournament consists of the top three teams from each division.

Levi Cockrill all took wins on the singles court for McMurry. Then,
Will Davis teamed up with Rainwater and Abilez & Williams paired up to take wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles court respectively.
In women's action in succession from No. 1 to No. 6 on the singles court,
Natalie Rodriguez,
Whitney Zugai,
Gavee Olsen,
Chelsea Miller,
Hilary Stone and
Rachel Smith took wins. On the doubles court the tandems of Rodriguez & Zugai, Olsen & Miller, Stone & Smith took wins on the doubles court.
The McMurry men moved to 10-6 overall and 4-0 in league play while the women improved to 8-7 on the year and 3-1 in league play.
