McMurry's basketball teams begin its quests for the American Southwest Conference championships Friday with the men's team headed to Belton and the women's to Pineville, La. The ASC office will be providing live audio and video along with live stats for each tournament and Abilene fans can hear the women's games on ESPN Radio 1560 AM and the men's games on KWKC 1340 AM.
Both teams carry the same schedule. The McMurry men will take on East Texas Baptist in Belton at 2:30 p.m. while UT-Dallas and the McMurry women will square off in Pineville, La. at 2:30 p.m. If either team advances to the semi-finals Saturday, the start time is scheduled for 2 p.m. in both cases while Sunday's championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
As long as both teams are in their respective tournaments, the men and the women will remain split on radio stations. However, if either team drops out of the running, the remaining games will be on ESPN Radio 1560 AM KZQQ.
The men's team (17-8) enters as the No. 2 seed from the ASC West Division while ETBU (14-11) is the No. 3 seed from the east division. The women's team (16-9) enters as the No. 3 seed from the west while the Lady Comets (19-6) are the No. 2 seed from the east.
McMurrySports.com will not have its usual audio / video feed because the ASC owns the audio / video rights to the tournament. Please visit the ASC's Tournament home page to view live audio and video online, however, with the exception of the men's quarterfinals game Friday, the broadcast will not be with McMurry's personnel.
