Both McMurry tennis teams dropped two of three matches over the weekend, but the men's team did upset NCAA Division II Dallas Baptist, 5-4 Friday before falling to LeTourneau and UT-Tyler. The women's team took a win over LeTourneau and fell to DBU and UTT.
Against Dallas Baptist, the McMurry men took four of six matches on the singles court and won one match on the doubles court.
Bryan Rainwater,
Daniel Olivares,
Tony Williams and
Brent Abilez took singles wins in the upset while
Will Davis and Rainwater beat DBU's top doubles team.
UT-Tyler's men took every match, singles and doubles with the exception of Olivares' singles court win and the Patriots defeated McMurry 8-1.
McMurry swept LeTourneau's men on the doubles court, however, the Yellow Jackets countered taking all six singles matches. Davis and Rainwater, Cockrill and Olivares, and Wiliams and Abilez took doubles wins. McMurry's men are 3-3 on the season after the weekend.
On the women's side, DBU swept McMurry 9-0 and the team fell to UT-Tyler 9-0. However, the team did manage a 7-2 win over LeTourneau. McMurry's women took two doubles matches and five singles matches in the victory.

Gavee Olsen,
Chelsea Miller, Hillary Stone and
Rachel Smith recorded wins on the singles court. Miller and Olsen teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles match while
Karlie Deiterich combined with Stone to win the No. 3 doubles match.
McMurry will return to action Friday and Saturday in San Antonio against St. Mary's and Our Lady of the Lake respectively.
