ABILENE, Texas - McMurry Men's Soccer dropped a 3-1 decision to Wayland Baptist on Sunday afternoon at Wilford Moore Stadium.
The visitors got on the board in the 24th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
McMurry tied the game in the 33rd minute when
Audrick Moreno netted an unassisted goal, his second of the season.
Wayland Baptist reclaimed the lead early in the second half with a goal in the 49th minute, then added an insurance score in the 67th minute.
Wayland Baptist out-shot its host 20-4, and
Jose Sanchez came up with 10 saves in 75 minutes of action to lead the defense.
Cayden Kruse closed out the match with 14 scoreless minutes in the net.
Moreno had two shots on goal to lead McM, followed by
Tarik Kesetovic and
Divine Osagiede with one shot each.
The War Hawks return to action Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 p.m., heading to Houston to take on the University of St. Thomas.
