ABILENE, TX - The McMurry War Hawks faced off against the University of Dallas on March 29, 2026, at Walt Driggers Field. The final score was 9-2 in favor of McMurry. With this victory, McMurry won 2 of 3 games in the series, moving their overall record to 13-14 and their SCAC record to 11-10.

McMurry struck first in the bottom of the opening inning, seizing a 2-0 lead. Noah Solis reached first base on a shortstop's error, sending Collin Bruning across the plate for an unearned run. Scout Smith then lined a single, driving in Dru Ohmstede to widen the lead.

The War Hawks continued to extend their lead in the second inning, scoring two more runs to make it 4-0. Kaden Buske scored on a balk after earlier reaching on a walk. Collin Bruning then grounded out to first base unassisted, which brought Tatum Black home.

Dallas got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI single. However, McMurry responded emphatically in the bottom half of the inning with three runs. Kaden Buske stole third base and scored on a catcher's error. Collin Bruning then launched a two-run home run, scoring Beckham Paul to push the McMurry lead to 7-1.

Adding one more run in the top of the sixth, Dallas closed the gap on a fielder's choice groundout. McMurry then answered in the bottom of the inning to seal the game, as Beckham Paul hit an RBI single to score Kaden Buske. Later, Noah Solis reached on a fielder's choice, allowing Beckham Paul to score and finalize the 9-2 victory. The bullpen locked the game down from there, with Adam Trevino striking out four batters over two perfect innings to close it out.

Top Performers

Collin Bruning: Bruning went 2-for-4 at the plate, highlighted by a two-run home run. He finished with two runs scored, three RBIs, and a stolen base.

Kaden Buske: Buske was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. He scored three times, drew two walks, and successfully stole two bases.

Beckham Paul: Went 1-for-2 with a walk, scored twice, drove in a run, and stole a base.

Hagen Tate: Tate pitched four innings, allowing just one hit and one earned run while striking out four batters to pick up the win and move his record to 4-0 on the season.
