GARLAND, TX - The McMurry University women's swim team battled to the finish line on the final day of the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships Saturday evening at the Garland ISD Natatorium. The War Hawks wrapped up the grueling competition in eighth place overall, tallying 165 points.
Freshman Brooklynn Lizcano delivered the highest individual placement of the day for the War Hawks, grabbing a top-five finish in the 200-yard backstroke. Lizcano touched the wall with a quick time of 2:17.42 to claim fifth place and secure 14 points. Her classmate,
Nicole Ryman, also put points on the board in the same event. Ryman finished 11th overall with a time of 2:25.02, adding six points to the McMurry total.
In the endurance-testing 1650-yard freestyle, junior
Natalie Liles showcased her stamina with a gritty performance. Liles captured seventh place overall, hitting the pad at 19:49.45 to bring home 12 points for the squad. Sophomore Anna V Nielsen also added to the distance success, grinding out a 12th-place finish in the mile with a time of 21:58.74.
The War Hawks closed out the meet with a solid effort in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Liles, freshman
Emilee Thompson, Ryman, and Lizcano teamed up to touch the wall in 4:05.55, claiming eighth place and bringing in a final 22 points.
