ABILENE, TX – The McMurry War Hawks showcased an explosive offensive display at Kimbrell Arena, securing a commanding 77-58 victory over the University of the Ozarks. Despite a tight first half that saw the War Hawks trailing by three at the break, the team found another gear in the final 20 minutes to pull away for the conference win to bring their overall record to 8-11 overall and 3-7 in the SCAC.
The contest was a tale of two halves. The Eagles managed to build a lead as large as nine points early in the second period, but McMurry responded with a relentless 18-0 run that completely shifted the momentum. McMurry's depth proved to be a decisive factor, outscoring the Ozarks' bench 30-11. The War Hawks also excelled at punishing Eagle mistakes, converting turnovers into 15 points and maintaining a high-tempo attack that resulted in several fast-break opportunities.
