KERRVILLE, TX — The McMurry War Hawks fell to the Schreiner Mountaineers in a three-set match on Saturday in their conference opener, with set scores of 15-25, 17-25, and 26-28. The loss brings the War Hawks' season record to 6-3, and 0-1 in the SCAC.

The McMurry offense was led by Shaely Rogers, who had a team-high 10 kills and a formidable .348 hitting percentage. Carli Colbert and Marcette Williams were also key offensive contributors, adding seven and six kills, respectively. The offense was orchestrated by Alexis Dolton, who had 14 assists.

From the service line, the War Hawks tallied only two aces. On defense, Colbert anchored the back row with a team-high 14 digs, and Isabela Dorsey and Dolton each contributed nine and seven, respectively. The War Hawks also tallied three total blocks.

After struggling in the first two sets, the War Hawks battled hard in the third, with a late run to tie the set at 24-24. However, they were unable to close out the set, falling 26-28.

McMurry continues conference play when they return home to Kimbrell Arena to host Texas Lutheran on Friday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m. for their "Black Out Game".
