BELTON, TX - The McMurry men's soccer team fell to Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-1 in a tough road match on Saturday. Despite a strong second-half effort, the War Hawks couldn't overcome the Crusaders' lead.
The War Hawks' lone goal came in the 79th minute when Pedro Yanez scored an unassisted goal, his fourth of the season.
McMurry finished the night with five shots, one of which was on goal. In addition to Yanez, Leonel Aguilar, Arsany Ibrahim, Justyn Judie, and Alejandro Castaneda each had a shot. Goalkeeper Jose Sanchez was a standout in the match, finishing the game with four saves.
The War Hawks will look to rebound next week when they host their conference opener against Centenary College on Friday, September 26, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. at Wilford Moore Stadium.
