SUWANEE, Ga. -- Ten Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference programs were recognized by the league as Spring 2025 Sportsmanship Teams in their respective sports.
The SCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee instituted the award prior to the 2016-17 academic year in an effort to honor the team that best portrays good sportsmanship and fair play from the players and coaches during the season. The spring awards are presented in baseball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.
Colorado College and
Trinity University paced the league with two spring programs earning accolades, while
Austin College,
Concordia University (Texas),
McMurry University,
University of the Ozarks,
Schreiner University and
Texas Lutheran University all collected one honor each.
Schreiner collected top honors in baseball for the first time in program history, followed by Trinity in second and McMurry and Southwestern tying for third.
In golf,
Trinity captured the team sportsmanship honor for the second consecutive year and third time (2017, 2024, 2025) in program history on the men's side. The Tigers joined Centenary as the only other program in SCAC history to win the honor three times. Trinity was the top choice with Texas Lutheran finishing second and Southwestern earning third.
For the women, the Tigers completed the sweep for the second-straight year as
Trinity took top honors for the second consecutive season. This marks the first time in league history one institution has swept the golf team sportsmanship honors in consecutive seasons. Southwestern swept the golf team honors in 2019. Southwestern secured second in the balloting, while Texas Lutheran claimed third.
Ozarks, competing in its inaugural SCAC season, secured top honors in softball followed by Southwestern and Texas Lutheran.
In men's tennis, SCAC debutant
Concordia was voted to the top spot for the first time in program history, edging out Austin College, with St. Thomas and Texas Lutheran finishing tied for third. On the women's side,
Austin College and
Texas Lutheran shared first place, followed by Dallas in third. It marks the second time in the last three years and SCAC women's tennis record fifth time (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025) in program history for the 'Roos to earn this prestigious honor, while it marks the first time in program history for the Bulldogs to be recognized.
Colorado College and
McMurry finished in a tie for first in men's track and field, followed closely by Trinity in third. For CC, it marks the second time in program history the Tigers have been recognized on the men's side, previously being honored n 2017, while it is a first in program history for the War Hawks.
In women's track,
Colorado College secured top honors for the third time (2017, 2021, 2025) in program history, edging out McMurry and Texas Lutheran. Colorado College now joins TLU (2023, 2024) as the only other institution to claim at least a share of the top spot in both genders in the same year twice, previously accomplishing the feat back in 2017.

The awards were voted on by each member institution's SAAC, with each individual group ranking the top three teams in each sport. The first place selections were awarded five points, second place earned three points and third place earned one point. Points were then totaled to select the conference's overall winner.
