Round Rock, TX - The War Hawks faced Concordia in the first round of the SCAC Conference Tournament.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first inning.
McMurry's offense came alive in the top of the 2nd inning. Conference Player of the Year,
Michael Smosna, drew a lead-off walk.
Nolan Scherencel reached on an error by Concordia's centerfielder, allowing both
runners to advance to second and third.
Beckham Paul laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring home Smosna from third and advance Scherencel.
Blake Beach singled, driving in Scherencel.
Xavier Escobar hit a 2-run homer to cap off the McMurry scoring in the inning to take a 4-0 lead.
Concordia responded in the bottom of the 2nd, scoring three runs of their own, to tighten McMurry's lead to 4-3.
In the bottom of the 4th, Concordia scored four runs to take a 7-4 lead.
Concordia would add four runs in the 4th inning and two more in the bottom of the 8th to push their lead to 9-4.
McMurry would threaten but was unable to score after the second inning, giving Concordia the 9-4 win.
