Box Score The War Hawks split their double-header with Dallas on Saturday. McMurry improved to 6-2 overall & 3-2 in conference play.
GAME 1: McMurry dropped the first game of their double-header on Saturday afternoon against Dallas.
The War Hawks got off to a solid start in this one as they took a 3-0 lead right out of the gate in the bottom of the first inning. Dallas responded and put up 4 in the top of the second. The see-saw continued to go back-and-forth as McMurry plated across 2 in the 3
rd inning, along with Dallas scoring 1 in the 3
rd.
A third of the way through the game, we were deadlocked at 5 runs apiece. 6 runs over the next 2 frames for the Crusaders blew the game wide open as the War Hawks were staring at a 5 run deficit. 4 runs in the 9
th for Dallas helped them get enough insurance to hold off a late McMurry rally as Dallas went on to win by a score of 15-10.
McMurry scored 10 runs on 11 hits with 2 errors, while Dallas scored 15 runs on 16 hits with 1 error.

GAME 2: The War Hawks got off to a solid start again in game 2. They plated across a run in each of the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead into the third inning of play. A scoreless third inning from both squads would send us to the middle section of the contest with the score remaining 2-0 in favor of the War Hawks.
McMurry would get another run across in the bottom of the 4
th as they looked to try to distance themselves from the Crusaders but they were able to limit the damage as the War Hawks led 3-0 after 4 innings. Dallas left a runner in scoring position in the top half of the 5
th as the McMurry pitching and defense shined once again, sending us to the bottom half of the 5
th with the shutout still intact.
An empty 5
th, 6
th, and 7
th inning lead us to the 8
th with the score remaining at 3-0 as we entered the final stretch of the game. The War Hawks added 7 more in the 8
th inning to put the game away as they went on to win by a score of 10-0 after 8 innings.
McMurry had 10 runs on 8 hits and 1 error, while Dallas had 0 runs on 4 hits with 1 error.
The War Hawks are back in action tomorrow at 2:00pm in the final game of the series against Dallas as they look to earn the series win.
