CONWAY, AR - The McMurry men's soccer team suffered a tough 3-2 conference loss to Hendrix on Sunday at Warrior Soccer Field. Despite a spirited second-half comeback where the War Hawks scored twice in five minutes, they were unable to overcome the Warriors' lead.

The Warriors took an early 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute. McMurry battled through the second half, with Juan Carlos Rocha Ceron netting the first goal for the War Hawks in the 65th minute on a penalty kick. Just 15 minutes later, Pedro Yanez scored McMurry's second goal in the 80th minute, also on a penalty kick, to bring the score to a 2-2 tie. However, the Warriors managed to score the eventual game-winner just moments before Yanez's goal in the 78th minute.

McMurry's offense recorded 11 shots, putting seven on target. Juan Carlos Rocha Ceron and Pedro Yanez were the goal-scorers. Leonel Aguilar, Dylan Christian, and Nick Munoz each registered a shot on goal as well. Goalkeeper Christopher Reyes finished the night with four saves.

The War Hawks will look to get their first conference victory against Texas Lutheran on Friday, October 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Gustafson Soccer Field in Seguin.
