ABILENE – McMurry got the bounce-back it needed beating Centenary in three sets on Saturday.

The 25-18, 25-15, 25-14 win pulled the War Hawks even at .500 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

McMurry swung at clips of .225, .265 and .366 over the three sets.
Â
Jacee Dinkins had a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs to pace the War Hawks.
Jennika Willis added eight kills and
Carli Colbert led with 21 assists and three aces.

Hannah Page was everywhere on the back row with 25 digs while
Addyson Tiffin was in on four blocks and Willis on three.

The match got off to an odd start with Centenary scoring the first three points all on aces. McMurry trailed 5-1 before rallying to take a 6-5 lead. Colbert had a kill to tie the game at 9-9 and ignited a 4-0 run for a 12-9 lead. A 7-0 run for a 19-13 lead put the War Hawks ahead to stay.
Bailey Blanton ended the set with a block.

The Ladies had a 12-10 lead in the second set that evaporated with an 8-0 McMurry run for an 18-12 lead.
Allison Montoya ended the set with consecutive aces.

Centenary again enjoyed a brief lead in the final set but a 7-0 run put the War Hawks ahead 10-5.
Isabela Dorsey got the match point with a kill.

The War Hawks visit St. Thomas on Thursday and Colorado College on Saturday.
