HOUSTON – McMurry bounced back from a rough first set to take a 2-1 lead before St. Thomas rebounded to win 3-2 on Thursday.
 
UST won 25-14, 18-25, 17-25, 25-17, 15-9.
 
Addyson Tiffin led the War Hawks with 19 kills while Jacee Dinkins added a double-double with 14 kills and 18 digs. Carli Colbert led the team with 23 assists while Ashlyn Quillan supplied 16.
 
Tiffin led the front row with three blocks while Hannah Page racked up 26 digs to lead the defense.
 
McMurry bounced back from the 11-point loss in the opening set with .310 and .257 attack percentages in the second and third sets.
 
The War Hawks scored five of the last six points in the second set to even the match. Tiffin and Dinkins had two kills each in the final run of the set with Dinkins getting the set point.
 
McMurry got out to an early 5-1 lead and was able to fend off UST. Reese Stephens and Jaidan Servati got a set-clinching block.
 
The War Hawks fly to Colorado to take on Colorado College at noon Central time in Colorado Springs.
