ABILENE – McMurry Women's Basketball is on the court for two games this week, hosting Sul Ross State Monday at 5:30 p.m. and visiting Sam Houston State for an 11 a.m. exhibition on Thursday.

Last Game: The War Hawks are 1-1 after a tough 64-63 loss to Hardin-Simmons.

th in Division III with a 47.6 field goal shooting percentage.
Ashton Garner is shooting 75 percent from the field and
Aryana Cleveland is at 50 percent.

Not Hot Shots: McMurry also leads all Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams by allowing just 32.2 percent field goal shooting from its opponents. Much of that success is based on limiting second chances. The War Hawks lead the SCAC with 32.5 defensive rebounds per game. McMurry also leads the league with 55.5 points allowed per game.

Holland on the Floor: Emily Holland leads the SCAC with 36.9 minutes per game. She is second in assists with 4.5. Holland lead the War Hawks with 2.0 steals per game and averages 11.5 points.

Scouting Sul Ross: McMurry took two close games from Sul Ross State last season (68-65 and 78-74). SRSU is 2-1 after a 75-71 win over NAIA Northern New Mexico. Freshman guard TaMaiya Mims leads the Lobos at 15 points and 3.5 steals per game. Junior guard Cheyanne Bonilla averages 11 points and six assists.

Scouting SHSU: Sam Houston State is 4-2 after a 67-48 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Deborah Ogayemi, a 6-0 forward, averages 13.2 points and 9.8 rebounds. The game on Thursday is an 11 a.m. game with Huntsville schools invited to attend the game.
