IRVING – McMurry got a needed Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road win at the University of Dallas on Friday, 3-0.

The War Hawks won 26-24, 25-7, 25-23.

Jacee Dinkins led McM with 20 kills to go with seven digs.
Addyson Tiffin had three aces and led the front row defense with four blocks.

Carli Colbert had 10 assists and
Hannah Page was big on the back row with 13 digs.

McMurry scored the first six points of the first set but Dallas later used a 6-0 run to square the score at 12-12. After the Crusaders went up 22-20, McMurry scored the next four points for a 24-22 lead. UD countered with two points but the War Hawks ended the set with a kill by Colbert and a Crusader attack error.

The War Hawks swung at a .303 pace in the second set while holding the hosts to -0.075. McMurry broke up a 5-3 game with a 12-0 run. That spree included four kills and a block by Dinkins and three aces by Tiffin.

The final set was knotted at 23-23 before Tiffin got a kill to set up match point and UD had an attack go long for the final margin.

The War Hawks, 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the SCAC, host Hardin-Simmons on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
