ABILENE – McMurry closed out the home portion of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a sweep of St. Thomas on Sunday, 25-11, 25-17, 25-16.

The War Hawks put themselves in a position of strength in terms of a postseason berth with the win.

McMurry took control early in the first set and enjoyed two 14-point leads with
Addyson Tiffin closing out the set with a kill.
Â
After falling behind early, 7-3, in the second set, McMurry took the lead for good during a 9-0 run. Willis had two kills and a block in that spree.

The War Hawks scored the last five points of the decisive third match, including a match-point kill by
Kendra Humphries.
Â
Humphries led the team with seven kills while
Carli Colbert distributed 16 assists.

Colbert,
Hannah Page and
Jacee Dinkins had two aces each.

Tiffin was dominant up front with seven blocks, including three solos. Page had 16 digs, followed by Dinkins with 12 and Colbert and
Chloe Ukle with 11 apiece.

The War Hawks hit the road next week, playing SCAC matches at Austin College at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Centenary at 5 p.m. on Friday.
