ABILENE – McMurry got the weekend off on the right foot with a 2-0 win over Dallas in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Friday.

Jordan Katende and
Pedro Yanez scored their first goals of the season.

Katende scored in the 41
st minute, taking an assist from Yanez and burying the game-winner.

Yanez scored with time running out for the 2-0 lead.

Brandon Walker had five saves to pick up the shutout in goal.

"I'm exceptionally proud of the men," said McM head coach
Charles Nobles. "We have been getting better but the results haven't shown it. Tonight, to have a shutout and score two goals is incredible. We hope to continue to build and keep getting better."

McMurry out-shot its guests, 10-7, led by Yanez's three shots. Yanez had two shots on goal while Katende,
Nick Munoz,
Dylan Christian,
Trey Castillo and
Anthony Licea tested the UD keeper once each.
