Box Score McMurry University's Lady War Hawks had five players score in double figures in an 86-68 win over Concordia University Thursday, Jan. 11 in Kimbrell Arena.

Junior post Katie Hale (Decatur, Texas) led with 19 points, followed by junior guard/forward Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas) with 17, sophomore forward/center Aryana Cleveland (San Antonio, Texas) with 16, and sophomore guard Kylie Flippin (Wichita Falls, Texas) and sophomore guard Helana Chadwick (La Vernia, Texas) with 13 apiece. The only other player to score was senior guard/forward Taya Bridges (Mesquite, Texas) with eight points, just two away from being the team's sixth in double digits.
The opponent won the first quarter 16-15, but the Lady War Hawks won the others 23-22, 24-18 and 24-12.

Coach Drew Long's team nailed 14 three-pointers. Bridges and Hale both connected on two of three attempts, Holland made four and Chadwick and Flippin added three each. McMurry was impressive at the free-throw line as it sank 18 of 25 attempts. Chadwick and Bridges were each 2 of 2, Holland was 3 of 4, Hale was 1 of 2, Cleveland was 6 of 8 and Flippin was 4 of 7.

Cleveland and Hale had seven rebounds, both with four on offense and three on defense, and Holland also had seven, three on offense and four on defense. The Lady War Hawks stole the ball 13 times and Cleveland had the most with four thefts, followed by Holland and Flippin with three apiece, and junior post Ashton Garner (Odessa, Texas), Hale and Bridges with one each.

McMurry blocked four shots with Flippin, Holland, Hale and Cleveland contributing one apiece. The lead changed hands 10 times and the score was tied seven times.
McMurry, 11-4 overall and 6-1 in the American Southwest Conference, hosts University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at 1 p.m. Saturday in Kimbrell Arena.
