SERIES HISTORY:Â Â This is the first meeting between the two schools. They will be future combatants in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

STATS CHECK: Through three weeks, the Maroon and White, sporting a 1-2 record, have a top 20 standing in four team categories on the current NCAA Division III rankings. They are one of 175 programs that has not had a punt blocked, they stand No. 20 in fewest kickoff return yards allowed (14.4), they're 19
th-best in punt return yardage per attempt (17.6) and eighth in average time of possession (35:21 per game).

Although no individual statistics are among best 20 nationally, sophomore defensive back
Kimani Smith (Austin, Texas) is just outside the area. He is 29
th in interceptions per game, as his three to date average out to seven-tenths a game.

"Obviously, it's tough looking back at a loss at Mary Hardin-Baylor," he added. "However, that is still one of the nation's best programs. We were right with them for the entirety of the first half. It goes back to making mistakes that you just can't against an explosive team. They made us pay for them."

The War Hawks clash with crosstown American Southwest Conference rival Hardin-Simmons at 6 p.m. in Wilford Moore Stadium to help spotlight the festivities.
