McMurry University head football coach Jordan Neal and Interim Director of Athletics Larry Dockery have announced hiring Broc Watkins as a linebackers coach for War Hawks football. He takes over the duties from Will Snyder, who will now guide the defensive secondary along with his associate head coaching role.
 
Before coming to Abilene, Watkins had been an offensive and defensive graduate assistant for NCAA Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville from August 2022-May 2023. He played on the gridiron for NCAA Division I Southern Methodist University from 2019-22.
 
"We couldn't be more excited to have Coach Watkins joining our staff and football family here at McMurry," Neal said. "Broc is a focused, highly motivated, and energetic young coach with a lot to offer our program. He comes with excellent experience and mentorship from a great Kingsville program, and we know he will make a huge positive impact for our players, coaches, and community.
