Sophomore infielder Riley Hood (Abilene, Texas) led 11 McMurry University scholar-athlete selections on the 2023 all-American Southwest Conference baseball postseason awards, released Tuesday, May 9.
 
Hood, a first-team utility selection, continued a string of three successive years of having at least War Hawk receive top squad accolades. He ranked among the loop best 20 in batting average (.343) and RBI (34) and just outside the same area in hits (No. 21 – 47).
 
Head coach Josh Lee's squad had 10 individuals on the honorable mention list. They were freshman catcher Michael Smosna (Lubbock, Texas); junior third baseman Josh Dyer (Albany, Texas); junior shortstop Blake Beach (Atascocita, Texas); sophomore outfielder Koy Carpenter (La Vernia, Texas); sophomore outfielder Casey Turner (Kingwood, Texas); sophomore designated hitter Nolan Schrencel (Arlington, Texas); freshman pitcher Cooper Marshall (Boerne, Texas); sophomore pitcher Bryson Morrill (Trophy Club, Texas); senior pitcher Travis Beauchamp (Waco, Texas); and sophomore pitcher Adam Trevino (Galveston, Texas).
 
Beauchamp, Beach, Dyer, and Carpenter earned second all-conference recognitions.
