Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ALPINE, TEXAS – McMurry University produced straight-set victories in each singles meeting Friday, April 7.
 
Head coach Chris Breaux's War Hawks each dispatched Sul Ross State University 9-0 in men's and women's action at the Bush Tennis Center. The men's squad was incredibly efficient, posting four 6-0, 6-0 wins from senior Reid Smith (Pampa, Texas), freshman Eh Ruh Soe (Dumas, Texas), sophomore Jonathan Arzuaga (Roanoke, Texas), and freshman Jack Greenwald (Spring, Texas). Senior Jason Cabe (Brownfield, Texas) and freshman Ty Edwards (Bracketville, Texas) added another perfect decision at number three doubles.
 
McMurry's women's team was just as impressive. Senior Emily Nuttall (Keller, Texas) and junior Hannah DeFriend (Groesbeck, Texas) earned 6-0, 6-0 singles triumphs. DeFriend opened the afternoon with fellow upperclasswoman Hope Turner (Wills Point, Texas) as part of an 8-0 win at number one doubles.
 
The two-day southwestern Texas trip continues Saturday, April 8, with a match-up against NCAA Division II University of Texas at Permian Basis. First serve is 9 a.m.
