The War Hawks women's squad pushed NAIA foe Texas Wesleyan to the wire in a 5-2 defeat. Senior

Jenna Vincent (San Angelo, Texas) and junior
Bridgette Fly (Watauga, Texas), at number two doubles, allowed the Maroon and White to claim the team point with 7-5 and 6-1 victories. Sophomore
McKenzie Carroll (Groesbeck, Texas) added a second point to McMurry's total with a straight-set win at number five singles. DeFriend nearly closed the gap even further, taking her opponent to a three-set thriller before being toppled.

The men's team was stopped by DBU and TWU 7-0 on both ends of a non-conference morning/afternoon doubleheader. Senior
Jason Cabe (Brownfield, Texas) earned four game wins in his second set at number three singles versus Dallas Baptist. The freshman duo of Nicholas Villalovos (Hereford, Texas) and Eh Ruh Soe (Dumas, Texas) won five games in singles play at number two and six slots, respectively, against Texas Wesleyan.

Chris Breaux's men's team (3-7) hosts the NAIA's Oklahoma Wesleyan University in a midweek double-dual at Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. The War Hawks women's team (4-5) returns to action with a trip to Austin College, along with the men, Saturday, March 11.
