MAROON AND WHITE KEEP RECENT HOT STREAK GOING

DALLAS, TEXAS – A non-conference visit to the University of Dallas Tuesday, March 28, showed McMurry University's current diamond prospects continue to trend upward.

Head coach Josh Lee's War Hawks scored in every inning but two and stifled the host University of Dallas Crusaders on only two earned runs and eight hits en route to a 13-5 victory. Senior relief pitcher Seth Pariette (Haslet, Texas) fired a one-hit fifth inning with one strikeout to claim the victory. At the same time, junior shortstop Blake Beach (Atascocita, Texas) belted a pair of doubles and scored four times, and freshman infielder Zach Spradling (Buda, Texas) added a double and drove in two to lead the way.

Moving within a game of .500 (11-12), McMurry got out of the gate fast and didn't look back. The War Hawks posted three-run rallies in the first and second, and their hosts didn't get any closer than four runs the rest of the way.

The Maroon and White are back home at Walt Driggers Field Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1, with East Texas Baptist University taking the western trek in American Southwest Conference action. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
