Cammie Petree's McMurry University volleyball team enters the 2022 American Southwest Conference schedule right where it wants to be – on an early-season roll.
The War Hawks split four matches at tournaments hosted by the University of Dallas and Austin College Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3. McMurry swept past Paul Quinn College before the hosts stopped them Saturday. On Friday, Petree's crew knocked off Regis College in four sets and took the University of Dallas to a five-set thriller before falling.
Sophomore middle hitter
Bri Garcia (Abilene, Texas) drilled 10 kills and put up a block to go along with nine kills, two aces, and 10 digs from fellow home towner and sophomore
Keetyn Davis, an outside hitter, versus Paul Quinn. In the victory over Regis the day prior, Garcia had another big match with seven kills, two service aces and five blocks. Junior middle/right side hitter
Addyson Tiffin pounded down eight kills to top the offense.
McMurry (3-2) starts a stretch of six successive home matches on its Kimbrell Arena floor Friday, Sept. 9. Sul Ross State visits for a 6 p.m. first serve in ASC action.
