ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Tennis had the tall task of welcoming its Northside rival – Hardin-Simmons – for a pair of American Southwest Conference matches Friday, falling in both at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center in Abilene.
The women were able to earn a doubles point, but HSU won the rest of the way to remain unbeaten in divisional play. The Cowboys improved to 3-0 in the ASC, while the Cowgirls moved 4-0.
Meanwhile, McMurry's women break even in ASC play with a 2-2 record. The men fall to 1-3.
"Hardin-Simmons is always a tough opponent," said McMurry head coach Chris Breaux. "We had some close battles but couldn't close them out. We have to work on the things that held us back. We look forward to Colorado College and Howard Payne next week."
