DOMINANT DEFENSE CONTINUES TO GUIDE WAR HAWKS

ABILENE, TEXAS – In a tense, late-season American Southwest Conference battle at Wilford Moore Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 28, neither McMurry University nor UT-Dallas gave any quarter over 90 minutes.

Head coach Charles Nobles' team's penchant for shutouts continued on the fantastic late fall evening. Junior goalkeeper Priscella Caruso (Tomball, Texas) and the War Hawks' defense, who have surrendered only four goals in the last 630 minutes of play, were back at it against the visiting Comets. UT-Dallas only managed only three total shot attempts with none on frame.

On the offensive end, McMurry nearly managed to get one of the six second-half corner kicks into the back of the visiting goal. Sophomore defender Haylie Blakley (Allen, Texas) dropped in an attempt midway through the final 45 minutes, which sophomore defender Grace Singleton (Sachse, Texas) headed past UT-Dallas' diving netminder. However, the bouncing attempt hit the crossbar and went out to foil the chance for a lead.

Sophomore forward Emily Holland topped an 8-3 shots advantage with three attempts, including one on frame.

McMurry (7-5-3 overall, 5-2-1 ASC) looks to resume the momentum of a recent run of play in which they have forged a 5-1-1 mark Saturday, Oct. 29. The University of Ozarks pays a visit for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff which serves as Senior Day 2022.
