WAR HAWKS EXTEND BEDROCK DEFENSIVE SPAN

ALPINE, TEXAS – Reigning American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week Priscella Caruso (Tomball, Texas) isn't done yet pitching opposing shutouts.

After two 90-minute clean sheets the week prior, Caruso and her backline teammates put up another goose egg Thursday, Oct. 13. This time, the Lobos of Sul Ross State University was thwarted despite holding a 10-9 shots advantage.

Caruso stretched the scoreless span of head coach Charles Nobles' stalwart defense to 293 minutes and 81 seconds on the natural grass of Lobo Field. She knocked off seven on-frame strikes by the home side. Meanwhile, McMurry found the back of the home net twice on offense on nine total shots.

Freshman midfielder Olivia Quintanilla (Burleson, Texas) had a road trip to remember. She not only notched her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute, but it also turned out to be her first game-winning score. Sophomore forward Emily Holland (Mansfield, Texas) added an insurance tally in the 67th minute. It was her seventh of the year and marked the third successive contest in which she tallied at least one goal.

Nobles crew moved into a tie for fourth on the loop standings behind their third straight victory. They continue their current road trip with another pivotal league battle Saturday, Oct. 15. Kickoff at Howard Payne University's Citizens National Bank Soccer Park is 1 p.m.
