BALANCED ATTACK SENDS MCMURRY BACK TO .500

BROWNWOOD, TEXAS – Sophomore outside hitter Jacee Dinkins (Azle, Texas) registered nine kills and put up three block assists during a white-hot individual offensive effort Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The underclasswoman front liner for head coach Cammie Petree's team didn't commit an error at the net and tallied a stratospheric .563 attack percentage that keyed a War Hawks sweep of nearby American Southwest Conference rival Howard Payne University. Dinkins was one of three attackers to hit .200 or better.

Junior middle/right side hitter Addyson Tiffin (Bushland, Texas) reeled off her seventh successive match at .200 or higher percentage-wise (eight kills, three errors, 24 attempts - .208), and sophomore middle hitter Bri Garcia (Abilene, Texas) computed at .200 with five kills, two errors, and 15 attempts. Keetyn Davis, another member of McMurry's deeply-talented youth crew, hammered eight kills, put up an assist, served three aces, and dug up nine Yellow Jacket offensive attempts. It was the Abilene, Texas, sophomore's sixth straight appearance with multiple service aces, while the team's version of a Swiss army knife also posted her 17th straight match with five-or-more kills and digs.

The War Hawks climbed up into .500 territory again with the 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 victory. Petree's team, advancing to 5-6 in league play, is tied with Hardin-Simmons for sixth and just a half-match behind Concordia for fifth on the loop standings. They resume the 2022 ASC slate Saturday, Oct. 15, visiting Sul Ross State for a noon start.
