ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Soccer fell on the wrong end of another close game on Monday afternoon, as Concordia Texas defeated the War Hawks 1-0 in non-conference action at Wilford Moore Stadium.

The Tornados took the lead in the 66th minute on a goal by Landon Nelson, who got behind the McMurry defense, dribbled nearly 50 yards and launched one from just outside the 18. The shot snuck inside the left post.

Despite the goal, freshman goalkeeper Angel Salazar racked up a season-high nine saves on 10 shots for a .900 save percentage.

The War Hawks had five shots and two shots on goal, both from sophomore Luis Lopez. The Tornados attempted 15 shots with 10 on target. Concordia Texas also attempted three corners, while McMurry tried two.

McMurry returns to American Southwest Conference play on Sunday, March 14 against Sul Ross State. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at Wilford Moore Stadium.
