Game day protocols announced for McMurry Athletics home events

ABILENE, Texas – With four McMurry University teams expected to open their seasons this week, Vice President for Student Affairs and Intercollegiate Athletics Sam Ferguson announced spectator protocols for all home events this week.

McMurry expects to host an unprecedented 15 home games in a five-day span involving the volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, baseball and men's and women's tennis programs.

For all home events at McMurry, each player and coach for both teams will receive two pass list spots for select guests, in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 with physical distancing in each venue.

No walk-up spectators will be admitted at this time, but there will be limited tickets available for McMurry students, faculty, and staff. Email announcements detailing these opportunities are forthcoming.

All venues, indoor and outdoor, will be social distanced by groups indicated on the pass list. Masking and social distancing between non-family members or roommates is required at all McMurry events, regardless of venue. Temperature and symptom checks are required before entry into the facility.

Concessions are currently closed for all events.

Upon completion of each game, fans will be asked to exit by section to avoid crowding. Fans will be asked to exit the facility immediately after the game and to avoid congregating within the stadium.

All guidelines are subject to change based around the safety of the community.
