ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University had their men's soccer rematch on Friday at the HSU Soccer Complex, and a second half surge allowed the Cowboys to earn a 3-0 win over the War Hawks.

It took 76 minutes for either side to break through, but HSU's Makenson Cadet would take advantage of his own shot, burying the rebound for the score.

With the War Hawks pushing to tie the game, HSU took advantage with a counterattack and doubled the lead four minutes later. The final goal came in the 86th minute.

McMurry attempted four shots on the night with one shot on net from Luis Lopez.

Freshman Angel Salazar got the start in goal and recorded five saves.

The War Hawks will hope to rebound on Friday, March 5 at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
