ROUND ROCK, Texas – McMurry Men's Soccer brings home a tough loss, falling 4-1 to Concordia Texas in American Southwest Conference action on Saturday in Round Rock, Texas.
The War Hawks are now (4-12, 2-7 ASC), while the Tornados move to (9-3-3, 7-0-2 ASC) and currently sit second in conference standings.
Despite being down 4-0, sophomore
Santiago Nunez would succeed on a solo attempt in the 69th minute to avoid the shutout. Through 15 appearances, Nunez has a team leading six goals and is responsible for 16 points this season.
McMurry took eight first half shots and put three on goal but wasn't able to convert on the attempts. With goals scored in the first frame by the Tornados in the 5th and 37th minute, McMurry entered the second half with some ground to make up.
Unfortunately, the offensive power by the Tornados continued in the final frame as CTX would add to its point total with goals in the 67th and 68th minutes.
McMurry finished with 11 shots and put five on target. Four of those on-target shots were owned by Nunez. The Tornados tallied 24 shots and recorded 12 on goal.

Andres Martinez added a shot in the matchup as well.

Orion Patterson recorded eight saves in 90 minutes at the net.
McMurry returns home for its final game of the season as they will face crosstown rival Hardin-Simmons next Saturday, Oct. 29 inside Wilford Moore Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
