ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Baseball hits the road this weekend for a visit to Louisiana College for a three-game American Southwest Conference series. All three games will be played at Billy Allgood Field.
Unlike previous ASC weekend series', McMurry will play the doubleheader portion Friday, with game one set for 4 p.m. and game two to follow. Saturday's single game is slated for noon. Live stats and video links can be found at mcmurrysports.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: McMurry was swept in a home series by visiting Mary Hardin-Baylor at Walt Driggers Field.
AT THE PLATE: Sam Hillyer leads McMurry at the plate with a .359 average. Mike Gonzales follows close behind with a .349 average and leads the War Hawks with 18 RBIs. Matthew Chalk is tops with four home runs.
ON THE MOUND: J.T. Barnes continues to lead McMurry on the mound with a 3-4 record and 3.86 ERA over 39.2 innings. He has one complete game and 19 strikeouts.
STOLEN BASES: McMurry tied a game high with two stolen bases in game one of the series against UMHB.
LAST TIME: McMurry last played Louisiana College in 2017, with the Wildcats taking two out of three.
SCOUTING LC: The Wildcats are one of three ASC teams receiving votes in this week's polls. Louisiana College is 21-6, 8-4 ASC after defeating Centenary this week. Clayton Noakes leads the Wildcats' offense with a .430 batting average along with six home runs and 25 RBIs. On the mound, Andrew Robinson is 5-0 with a 1.78 ERA.
