ABILENE, Texas – The four game road trip continues for McMurry Men's Basketball, as it visits Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University Friday and Saturday. McMurry will also visit NCAA II UT Permian Basin Tuesday night.
Tipoff for Friday's contest at TLU is slated for 5:30 p.m., while Saturday's game at Schreiner gets underway at 4 p.m. Tuesday's matchup against the Falcons is set to begin at 7 p.m. Live stats and video links will be available at mcmurrysports.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The War Hawks made the trek to Lincoln, Nebraska, to face No. 8 Nebraska Wesleyan. McM played hard against the Prairie Wolves, but came up short, 108-86.
STAT LEADERS: Senior forward Krishawn Terry leads McMurry with 13.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Cody LeBlanc is second at 11.0 points per game, while seniors Mike Williams Jr. and Zacc Carter average 9.5 and 9.3 points per game, respectively. Junior guard Khalil Butler is averaging 7.5 boards per game.
WE MEET AGAIN: The War Hawks squared off against the Bulldogs and Mountaineers just two weeks ago in their home and season openers. After a pair of losses, McM will look to pick up its first wins of the year on the return trip.
ROAD TRIPPIN: McM is in the middle of one of its two four game road swings this season. The War Hawks also have a three game road trip on their schedule.
SCOUTING TLU: The Bulldogs enter the weekend 1-2 after a home loss to Howard Payne last week. Three player do the bulk of the scoring for TLU, as the trio of Sebastian Andrade, Caleb Lister and Jorden Kite combine to average 54 points per game, led by 22.7 from Andrade and 19.0 from Lister. Lister averages a double-double with 10.7 boards per game and scored 27 points in the first meeting this season.
SCOUTING SCH: The Mountaineers have dropped two straight games after their season opening win. Three players average double figure scoring, led by 13.o points per game from junior guard Chase Pinter. Guard Alex Dehoyos averages 4.3 assists per contest, while forward Matthew Rindahl tops the team in rebounding at 7.3 per game.
SCOUTING UTPB: The Falcons have won four in a row after dropping their first two games of the year. UTPB was picked to finish eighth in the 18-team Lone Star Conference. Averaging 88.8 points per game, the Falcons are led by Pat Dembley's 20.5 points per contest. Three others average double figures, as well. Dembley leads the Falcons in assists, as well, and is shooting 48.7 percent from beyond the arc.
THE SERIES: McMurry holds a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series with UTPB, having last played in the 2013-14 season. McM also holds a 33-18 advantage over Schreiner and 26-18 lead over TLU.
