LONGVIEW, Texas – McMurry University men's soccer played LeTourneau University even for more than 82 minutes before giving up a late goal that led to a 1-0 road loss. With the setback, the War Hawks fell to 2-2-2 overall and are 1-1 in the American Southwest Conference standings, while the Yellow Jackets upped their record to 2-4-1 and 1-2 in the ASC.
Both teams managed three shot attempts in the first half, playing to a 0-0 score. McM took three corner kicks in the opening stanza, compared to just one by LETU.
But the Yellow Jackets came out in the second half and outshot the War Hawks, 4-2, including what proved to be the match-winning goal at the 82:17 mark of the contest. LETU's Eric Smith put the ball in the net off a pass from Luis DeLaTorre off the free kick, making it the 1-0 final score.
Each team had one corner kick in the second half, as well.

Jordan Sczech had two of the War Hawks' shot attempts.

Aaron Webb had one shot, apiece. Jaime and Webb put their shots on-goal, with Yellow Jacket goalkeeper C.J. Leyva making the save both times.

McMurry will look to returns to the win column on Saturday when it travels to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist University.
