HOUSTON, Texas – For the second time in less than 24 hours, the McMurry University faced off in a road game at an NCAA Division I opponent with similar results, this time dropping a 92-41 decision at Houston Baptist University. The War Hawks are now 0-2 on the year, while the win was the season-opener for the Huskies (1-0).
Much as was the case in Saturday evening's exhibition setback at Lamar University, HBU used its height advantage and experience to take control of matters early. The Huskies raced out to a 14-0 lead before a three-point basket from

McMurry trailed 28-5 after the first quarter and was down 52-13 at halftime.
McM shot 29 percent (17-58) from the floor and was 4-of-18 (22 percent) from three-point range. The hot-shooting Huskies hit 49 percent from the field (35-71) and connected on 22-of-27 free throw attempts, as well as five treys.
Reyna was the lone War Hawk in double-figure scoring with 16 points on a 6-for-22 shooting night, including a team-best three from beyond the arc. She also pulled down 10 a game-high 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
