ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University men's soccer gave up a par of second half goals and the result was a 2-1 American Southwest Conference loss to visiting LeTourneau University at Wilford Moore Stadium. The War Hawks fell to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the ASC, while the YellowJackets improved to 1-4-3 on the year and 1-2-1 in conference action.
McMurry drew first blood in the 15th minute when
Aaron Webb blasted a shot that was blocked –but not controlled - by LETU goalkeeper Miguel Cabrera.
Josh Erwin was right there to corral the loose ball and put it into the back of the net for his first goal of the season, making it 1-0 as it stood until the intermission.
But the YellowJackets kept putting pressure on the War Hawks, eventually tying the game in the 62nd minute. LeTourneau would net the match-winning goal in the 72nd minute.
Senior

McMurry goalie
Alex Chavez had four saves and was charged with both goals allowed.
