McM Knocks Off Schreiner, 3-0

 
ABILENE, Texas -  McMurry University volleyball earned a dominant non-conference win over Schreiner University, 3-0, by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-7 at Kimbrell Arena.  The War Hawks improved to 8-2 with the victory.
 
The trio of Madison Reed, Jsutice McGowan and Jordyn Burnell dominated the offensive front. Reed and McGowan each had eight kills, while Burnell added seven. McGowan had an impressive .538 attack average and Reed was at .438.
 
Up front, Verlyncia Nelson had three block assists. Nelson chipped in four kills, as well.
 
Libero Odalis Rodriguez took care of matters in the back row with 11 digs.
 
McMurry had eight aces as a team. Khristyn Howard Lauryn Davis each had two aces. Davis and Emarie James were each credited with 17 set assists.
 
Next up for McMurry will be a trip to face American Southwest Conference West Division pre-season favorite University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on  Tuesday (Sept. 19), with a 6 p.m. start.
