McM Plays to 0-0 2OT Draw with Belhaven

 
ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University men's soccer and Belhaven University battled for 110 minutes, but could resolve nothing, as the teams played to a 0-0 Homecoming tie at Wilford Moore Stadium. The War Hawks are now 5-4-2 over and 2-2-2 in the American Southwest Conference
.
McM out-shot the Blazers (1-6-5, 1-4-2 ASC) by a 14-8 margin for the match, with nine of those coming in the first half. The War Hawks put five shots on-goal and Belhaven put four on the nets. Sophomore Javi Mejia had four of McM's attempts, putting two on-goal. Rafael Lara, Josh Erwin and Matt Hernandez each had a shot-on-goal, as well.
 
McMurry senior goalkeeper Alex Chavez notched his sixth shutout – and seventh from the War Hawks' team – in lowering his goals against average of a miniscule 0.55.  Chavez had four saves versus the Blazers.
